Victims do what they need to do to survive!

June 21, 2017

It is not easy to speak up about sexual assault. An attack at work shatters the sense of safety. Victims often blame themselves and to testify, to go public with your attack all the details, can further traumatize. This woman deserves our support not judgement. Victims do what they need to do to survive.

If you look at the stats on sexual assault you are probably sitting with someone at this very moment who has experienced sexual violence/ assault. Think about it, look around the bus, in the mall, at work and in traffic today as you drive home. What can you do? Help victims speak up by ending the stigma, create a conversation on respectful workplace and ending violence against women, stop the jokes. This woman is a brave woman.
