Ted X Winnipeg 2019!
It was a fantastic day in Winnipeg sharing in the excitement the anticipation of this inspiring event.
It was an honour to be asked to participate in the Smudge ceremony.
As a speaker coach I felt more excited for the speakers watching each of them prepare, in their individual ‘space’ to go on stage in front of an audience of 500 people.
That alone can be intimidating.
As the speakers left the dressing room and went on stage their faces changed from anticipation to determination. After presenting their idea to the Ted X audience, the look in their eyes was one of pride, exhilaration and sheer joy.
Think about it, It takes real courage to be vulnerable up on stage live streaming to the world.
During the day at the speakers corner with Todd Scott it was an opportunity to ask questions and share with the presenters.
The audience responded to each speaker with enthusiasm and delight.
This year we had four doctors presenting.
Dr. Leslea Walters ‘ Mind your own Pregnancy ‘, Dr. Jane McDonald ‘Who is an Environmentalist?’, Dr. Aylia Mohammadi ‘Dinner with Grief and Empathy’, Dr. Deb Chaboyer ‘Reconciliation =Opportunity ‘.
Everyone who was in the audience will take away something different based on their life experiences.
Ashleigh Lodge spoke about the importance of accessibility ‘POURing over Your Website: An introduction to Digital Accessibility’
Johnny Meikle gave a powerful soon labels ‘Acknowledging the Story Behind the Label’
Dave Brown explained how jokes that we watch on TV can belong to someone else. ‘Joke Theft is no Laughing Matter’,

TEDx Winnipeg Is a success, and has been a success, and will continue to be a success due to the dedication of the TEDx team, those behind the scenes who prepare for the next year and all the volunteers because everybody is a volunteer. They do the Ted X Winnipeg because they value the messages the speakers share with Winnipeg , Manitoba and the world. Making each life better, improving our community, our province and our world.
Getting out of our comfort zone and sharing your idea with the world can change and inspire others as well. We learn from each other.
