10 fun things to do with your children on Valentine’s Day.
You do not have to spend money to enjoy your day.
Get creative in the kitchen.
- Ask them what to make as a ‘special meal’ and together create a wonderful food experience. If on a budget, use your imagination. A carpet picnic is loads of fun.
2. Write out Valentine’s Day cards for each other sharing what is special about family.
3. Dinner and some music in the background and maybe a few candles. Be fire wise of course. My daughter and I would use our china dish set, colourful napkins and milk in a pretty glass made her feel special.
4. Get dressed up and go out for dinner, even a fast food place is an opportunity to enjoy being together.
5. How about going out for a cup of coffee and a cookie.
6. Buy or make your own chocolates, do a project and make coloured/decorated boxes to share.
7. Watch a funny movie together.
8. Depending on the weather go for a long walk outside and explore the beauty of nature.
9. Spend time reading books then share what you have learned. from each other. Sharing knowledge builds bridges of understanding.
10. Coloring, painting, baking, art projects, balloon volley ball, computer games are all part of making any day special.
