An amazing day with LEAF (Legal Education and Action Fund), Equality Day April 27th, and sharing seeds of hope and awareness in promoting equality and ending bullying and violence against women. The students had the opportunity to use their own creative solutions with scenarios such as sexual harassment in the workplace
It was an honour to listen to a survivor and trail blazer who set the wheels in motion over three decades ago on addressing workplace sexual harassment as sex discrimination. Her case went to the Supreme Court of Canada and was successful. Sharing the journey of her experiences and courage was inspiring for the audience. Thanks to her effort, victims today have legal recourse against sexual harassment.
Knowing our past is part of continuing the conversation on equality, and ending violence for all women, who have the right to feel safe at home and in the workplace.
