The shines on a new day for those suffering from workplace violence. We all have our own path in life, with life experiences that create our individual way of thinking and reaction to people and events. Workplace violence is not to be tolerated, jokes that offend are not to be tolerated, unwanted touching and sexual comments are not to be tolerated, bullying by co-workers and management are not to be tolerated. We all make mistakes, none of us is perfect. Making a mistake and bullying are different with the intent. A joke to one person is harassment to another. The idea is be curious about boundaries and the behaviours you will accept and those that you will not accept both at home and in the workplace. Sexual harassment shatters self esteem. Bullying destroys lives. The bully counts on victims blaming themselves. There is never an excuse for abuse.
Good News for Catherine. It is so important to speak up. Never give up. The next generation of police officers have many women to thank who have sacrificed so much. Sexual harassment and bullying destroys the mind, body and soul. Time to heal.
