For those dealing with mental health it is a challenging and difficult conversation to have with family, friends and co-workers. As a person who is usually smiling and happy learning to live with PTSD has been extremely difficult. Sometimes just getting out of bed is a chore. If you have never experienced depression, severe stress, PTSD and mental health crisis then you are one of the few.
Each of us has our own life experiences that may be good, bad or the ugly. A trauma for one may not be a trauma for another.Understanding and being patient in recognizing our different perspectives is a gift. Speaking up, offering a kind word and a smile can make the difference in having the conversation by removing the veil of silent shame that many folks continue to feel dealing with mental health. You are not alone in the struggle. :)
