Protect your family and friends. There is a need for improved awareness and education on the dangers of escalation of violence in relationships. Like bullying, domestic violence escalates if nothing is done. Teach girls and boys about healthy respectful relationships listening skills and effective communication. It is never too late to re-learn the importance of boundaries and behaviours you will accept in a relationship and behaviours you will not accept. Abusive partners know how to profile a victim.
There is a fine line between an attentive partner and stalking. A fine line between a conversation and intimidation. Yelling and screaming is the fastest way to destroy love and a sense of safety. A self assured, well adjusted individual is more likely to see the early signs of an abusive relationship, seek help and leave. Either way the hope is to get help and to safety.
What would you do if you noticed a friend dating a person who was possessive with bullying jealous behaviours? Say nothing or speak up?
