I had the privilege of being part of the Survive and Thrive conference in Gimli put on by Creative Community Promotions by Samantha Hampton (who also was the keynote speaker and shared her story on becoming an entrepreneur. Powerful words from dealing with personal trauma, bullying, as a single mother, and imposter syndrome to empowered successful happy businesswoman)
There were amazing panel, discussions. Each speaker shares their journey with personal and financial struggles, and how they choose to move forward in life as an entrepreneur, despite those challenges, each finding their own success and personal fulfillment. Some of the empowering comments were the following; understanding the why, bringing joy, authenticity, comfort zone, feed the fire, sharing and healing, life can be beautiful again, and embracing technology.
Absolutely inspiring!
The networking opportunity with each workshop, the excellent information, wisdom and each breakout session filled my happiness cup to bursting.
For me, I am always inspired when people are willing to be vulnerable share their stories and learn from each other. Entrepreneurs are brave people because they work through their own fear and self-doubt eventually finding their way to success and happiness. Every time we get out of our comfort zone, we will experience fear. The idea is to push through it. Life is an adventure.
I learned that another effective word for self-care is lifestyle. Fantastic:)
Success and happiness look different for everyone.
We are more alike than different. The idea is to be curious and compassionate because you never know what another person might be dealing with in their business and personal lives.
This year there was the Owen Eyolfson Award presented to one of the entrepreneurs, Lucy Sloan. A lovely tribute to a beautiful young man who was kind, generous and caring. Well deserved indeed:)
The lunch and supper at the Lakeview Hotel were exceptional. Decorated tables and programs were beautifully designed. Looking forward to the Survive and Thrive third annual conference next year. Without the generous support of amazing sponsors, this could never have happened.
A special thank you to all of them.
The evening before was a networking opportunity with over 100 people from communities across the Interlake. Thanks to the sponsors everyone had a chance to participate, share and have lots of laughs
Looking forward to Survive and Thrive 3rd Conference in April 2024. Donate, sponsor, and make sure you attend this fun-fueled inspiring day.
